Howdy. I picked up a used Torq The Don (57L) over the summer. It came with plastic Futures 2+1 fins, a 6.875” center and 3.5” side bites. Is this a good size and fit? I was thinking about trying a 8.5” fin like this https://www.finsunlimited.com/single/yqx5svzox06l25l5kcnz27w2wn6kam . Their site says for singles on a board 8’10” but its 8’6” close enough?

There isn’t much info or any reviews on this board, trying to figure out how to dial it in best. Riding 2-6’ mushy pnw waves

Fin you are looking at is suitable , try various positions in the fin box to see where works best. try it with and without the side bites.
Have a read of the fin primer and it may give you more ideas! :D

1) what is wrong with the Thermotech fins ?
2) if it is the stock fins that came originally for the "The Don", don't you think the shaper/maker thought that fin set up was a good size and fit for most riders ? Or if stock the board doesn't come with fins, was the person you bought it used from about your height, weight and level of surfing ?

Dial it in for beginners ? For intermediates ? For Noseriding ? For Progressive Turns ? For late take offs ? For Fade turns take offs ?
