Please Comment on Fin Position

Postby Banana » Sun Nov 22, 2020 10:03 pm

I recently moved my fin all the way forward in the finbox to help with carving turns.

My turns have improved, but I'm not sure that's due to the fin position. I didn't feel any sudden/dramatic difference.

My current goal is cross-stepping.

Any recommendations on whether I should adjust the position of the fin, and if so, to where?

Thanks!

Looks like you have a lot of sweep in that fin. It's probably gonna have longer arching turns even with it further forward in the box. Might see more of a difference from a fin that's more upright, if you have one available.

Is your goal to Cross Step or to Nose ride. Moving your fin front or back will have no effect if your body doesn’t follow what your brain tells it to do. But most would put the fin in the rear for nose riding. I always put the fin in the center and adjust 1cm until it feels good.
