I don't have any fins for it. I've ridden plenty of longboards before but always borrowed ones, so I've just ridden whatever fins they were fitted with. I don't really have a clue about longboard fins to be honest.
What should I be looking to buy fin-wise to start me off?
I'm 6'1ish, 80kg.

Ok a simple variable 2+1 set up is a between an 8 or 9“ centre fin a cutaway true Ames , fluid foils or FCS and two small side bites.
I think a quad side bite set up is over finning.
so you have then , a single fin or the 2 + 1 available.
read the fin primer, but in the end the set up is what works best for you.
Remember centre fin forward = loose surfing , back in box tightens up the board.

Setting up as a :
Single - Greenough 4a about 9 inches
2 +1 - FCS side bites with 7.5" to 8.0" center
Quad - some type of Controller design, which is like a keel with the back 1/3 ripped off and moved

Thanks gents. I think I'll start with either a single or 2+1, depending on whats available.

Go second hand and buy both. No way of knowing until you try. My performance board has similar dims but a different tail shape (narrower with a squash). A 7.0 dolphin style fin with gx sides seem perfect, lining the rear edge of the centre fin with leading edge of the sides. However a single 4a just felt vague. You can normally sell on second hand fins at the same price you buy them for if you don't get on with them.
The controller quads look awesome. I have a speed dialler set (same principle of split keel, but less rake on leading fin) and they go great on my fish. Pacific vibrations also seem a good price new (even with import charge to UK).

It's a 9" Koalition fin. I haven't tried it yet unfortunately as the surf has been flat as a pancake!
