The designer of that particular two piece board is Tadashi Suzuki ( owner of Goddess surfboards/shop ). But I would give credit to Karl Pope for the first marketable “bisect” board.
Necessity is the mother of invention. Here in Tokyo you can only take a 2 meter board on the train. So a collapsible longboard would be suitable.

A good board but some of the later models and especially the carbon fibre stealth model had quality issues and I believe difficulty getting service and repairs.

Not even sure whether they are still made :shock:
