Which longboard

I am planning on buying my first longboard. I'm actually not experienced at all with board sports but i tried a friend's longboard and really liked it. But since i don't know much about the topic, maybe some of you could help me decide which one to get.

I would like a board that's good for cruising around, but when i get better i would like to do some simple slides and small hills with it as well. Not planning on going 60 mph, but it needs to be able to handle a little downhill.

Long story short, looking for a versatile board, thats not too expensive (<200 euros) but it needs to be decent (or good) quality.

I already found some boards myself, but i have no idea if the quality is good. Which one would be the best choice for me..? if the links don't work you can copy them

I couldn't find a skate forum when i first looked but maybe i gotta look for it better.. :) what you're saying makes sense.. But i know about a lot of surfers who skate just as much so i was thinking maybe someone here could help.
Also, i thought that since i put it in "longboarders only", i put it in the right place?
Anyways, thanks for replying!

When you do find a skateboard-ing forum instead of a surfboard-ing forum, it’s okay to refer the cruiser / down hill boards as “longboards”. BUT make sure you don’t refer the “regular” trick boards as “Short boards”. Just looking out for you buddy, since you not hip to all the different terminology yet.

One of the biggest longboard skate forums was " Silverfish Longboarding" , but suddenly it stop last year. You can search for "Concrete Wave" for another resource. Rumor has it that Silverfish Longboarding closed up because they were getting barraged with too many questions like :
1) Should I get a single or 2+1 set up ?
2) What brand board is good for noseriding ?
3) Is traction pads on a longboard outlawed ?

But I can understand their confusion, with words like WAVE and FISH, they might think it's a surf forum.

I'm sure you know the difference between a skateboard and a surfboard. But the terminology "LONGBOARD" fits in both disciplines. At the shop I worked at, when a college kid would come in asking " I want to buy a LONGBOARD", we would say "Longboard for the land or Longboard for the ocean ?"

So question for you, if the Down Hill / Cruiser skateboards are called Longboards. What would you ( in your area of the world ) call the twin flip upped tip trick board you do kick flips on ? At the shop we'd referred to them a "Trick boards". The new fangled plastic deck mini 70's retro cruisers we'd call "Penny" boards even though that's actually a brand.

Hahah i didn't realise longboard is also a surf term.. The boards you do kickflips etc with, i call them skateboards.. And then the smaller cruiser boards, i call them penny boards. Yes i know it's a brand but it kind of became a term of the style of board i guess.

Makes sense :) but no one ever guessed my name is dutch before, since it's quite a rare name.. Non-dutchies normally don't recognize it as a dutch name :)
