start on a piece of turd, a bic or a foamie or whatever, something you can buy cheap and sell on at about £10 less, get a fibreglass board and it gets dropped/hit etc then youve lost £2/300. thats my opinion anyways.

Now thats a bit harsh
Im no fan of popouts, but a BIC is a league above a foam board
Get her a popout, not a foam board. Foam boards are only any use for the very first lesson before the proto-surfer can even stand up

Ages ago, and I'll probably get busted for this comment, sweet Madeline said to me, "Hey! I never have to pay for weed. I'm a chick!"
There's a lot of truth in this. Dinners, movies, drinks, cars, surfboards, etc. If you're a "chick" some guy will spring for one. *LMAO*

Skip the foamies and junk boards. If she and you are serious, buy a fiberglass board from a local shaper-used or new. If she decides surfing's not for her, you still have a good board, to ride or to sell. Everybody wins!

Would you like to see your Girl´s leg with a cut in the Leg? Maybe in the face due a fin.
Girls must use ONLY SOFTBOARDS. The new foamies technology developed boards with good rails, so they can surf face waves.
"If you´re a begginer and can´t understand that using a glass board will help you in nothing, don´t worry, you will understand when you GROW UP".

please go to hell.
editing: i stand by please go to hell although feel i should justify it. what do you mean girls must only use sorftboards, why? what do you mean by new technology has allowed us to surf face waves? i realise men may always have the upperhand somewhat in strength etcetera, but seriously, open your eyes, girls CAN surf 'face' waves on any board that a man can, just as well as most of the guys out there and better than plenty im sure.

Beautifully said Babyboarder, couldn't have put it better myself
He's clearly someone who either makes or sells foam boards or he has been surfing for ages and not managed to progress beyond a soft top and is bitter and twisted about it.....

Gonna throw the cat amoungst the pidgeons here

Personally I think no one under the age of 30 should be allowed to surf. Girls can only surf on Wednesdays on softboards. Body boarders should be limited to indoor wave pools and I should have priority whenever I grace the line up with my company
Nahhh seriously don't take things so seriously you'll give yaselves an ulcer. I doubt it but Softboard could be Occy takin the piss. And if he/ she has that opinion I reckon its great because more kooks in the water with a soft boards means more waves for me. Everyone should ride softboards except me

I love softboards, I have introduced several people to surfing and always recommended that they use softboards.
They're just so handy, you can rest your board on them instead of the car park floor while you get your bag out of the car.
You can stand on them while you take your wetsuit off so it doesn't get all sandy.
Yup, they're great!! You wouldn't catch me with one in the water though!!

we rode softboards on the girlie camp in biarritz and they are best for beginners (i graduated to short fibreglass boards on thursday, wooo go me! shortboardings fun!) however they give you RASH EVERYWHERE that touches teh board, from sitting, on your legs, knees, shins, feet arms hands, EVERYWHERE AND IT KILLS.
