Soft fins for soft board

Hi all,

So I got my awesome Wavestorm
I know I know it gets the job done cheap
And I don't care. But I didn't know the fins were not flexible type.
Took one to the upper deck already, not fun!
Can only find one set of soft fins on the entire interenets!!
And they don't know if it'll fit the awesomeness of my wavestorm baby.
Does anybody know where to get soft fins? Also are softboard fins, the screw in type,
Standard size (fore the holes) on softies?
I'm considering putting a strip of tape on the leading edge of each fin,
Or maybe a very thin pice of rubber tubing, cut down the center and glued on to the leading edge. These fins have a decent edge and the Captain is unlucky ;)

Any advice will be appreciated arrr arrr,

CaptainKook

For the edges, just get some sandpaper and sand the edges down (both leading and back edge) until they feel safe (eg you can run your finger up and down without it hurting). I do that for all my fins; I honestly can't see that a 1mm safe edge will create any issues vs a razor sharp edge

If you want to go the next step, then the best soft fins are pro-teck, but I don't think they do screw in fins.

Surfco Hawaii makes the the Proteck fins in Super Flex in the post and screw type. Measure your board mounting holes and then contact Surfco Hawaii to see how far apart the holes are on their fins.

Be aware though, the person you drop in on, may not have soft fins or foam tubing covering the leading edge of their fins.

Excellent, thanks! Did not think of that!

Thanks much for the info ! But unfortunately that's way out of my price range, gulp.
Don't worry my handle is more of a joke than a lifestyle
I won't be dropping in on anyone in the soupzone, though one 12 year old girl did give me the evil eye the other day in the souplineup
