Hi All. I want to buy a used longboard at some point, but first I need to get a soft surf rack for my Honda Fit (4 door). If you have any recommendations for a brand type you are happy with or a thumbs down on a brand/model that you think is junk, then let me know. The last soft surf rack thread I could find was in 2011 so I thought I'd start another. Thanks.

I have a Thule hard rack that's excellent but here is a link to reviews from Surfer Today.
There are both hard and soft products on the list.

My shop sold the BLOCK surf racks ( doubles and singles ) and also used them for rentals. No problems. Dakine softracks were good until they stop selling them due to damaged board claims ( which usually was user/installation error ). Just remember to put a twist in the strap so they don't Hummmmmmm.

Rinky, you inquired about soft racks. The designs on these things are very similar. There's not much to get excited about. My suggestion is you look at three or four of them and: 1) buy the one that you like the buckles and fittings on more than the other ones, or 2) buy any one of them used at a very low price.

I had a soft rack; quickly sold it and replaced it with a hard fixed rack. Messing with the soft rack took too much away from time in the water.

Oops, I think I did already ask about soft surf racks. Well, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the Block straps. Thanks for the suggestions.
