Walden Mega Magic...whatdayathink?

I've had a 9' Walden Mega Magic for just over a year now and have really noticed my surfing come along in leaps and bounds, if I look to where I wanna be that board paddles to
it fast, catching waves on it is great and it seems to be great for turning and generating speed.

I wondered what others have experienced with these boards? Are they as good for everyone who has tried them?

Don't give the board ALL the credit.

Its a big high volume board, great for catching waves, wide and stable. So its giving you the opportunity to catch waves and then improve your skills with a pretty good margin for error (eg if your positioning is a bit off or you are a bit unstable on pop up etc). But, like most good boards, its not just a learner board, it will come along with you as your skills develop.

So basically its a great choice for where your skills are (well, I'm guessing as to your skills) and it will be a great board for the rest of your surfing life. Lots of learners come on and say they want to go straight to a shortboard or get there very quickly; but they fail to understand that longboarding has its own delights.

I ride a 9' Mega Magic every now and then and love the board. Walden seem like they make solid boards, everyone I've talked to that has one loves it, but then again, i haven't ridden any other longboard(other than a custom performance board meant for someone smaller than me) that didn't feel just as good. The board may feel a bit heavier if it's poly(Mega Magic I ride is epoxy) but longboards in general are quick to paddle and have no problem generating speed. Ease of turning I attribute more towards a surfer's skills rather than the board they are riding.
