Maybe this belongs in the Shortboarders Only section

Maybe this belongs in the Shortboarders Only section, because he sure doesn't surf like most longboarders. Another reason why Hawaii has it's own placement In ASP. Nelson Ahiina III is a true Hawaiian, surfs unreal and is a very good ambassador of Aloha. Oh and by the way, his two sisters surf better than you do, trust me.

Check out his surfing on a trip to Miyazaki, Japan.

Longboard aerials..... nice
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

That's the thing. Some people are totally against Longboarders doing aerials. But look how good he is on the nose. He can ride the nose and turn from the tail. He can do Classic and Progressive all on the same board. Also notice how far inside he was compared to the other competitors practicing. He was going off on the tiny beach break.

check out the other video of him during the contest when the typhoon hit. He charges the big stuff too. ( happens at 3:10 )

Tail 360's, layback snaps, and pig-dog drag leg in the barrel.

"SOME" people ought to get a life, surfing IMO is about doing what you can do really well.
Nelson Ahina does it all really well,.
Great argument against people who think you can only do this sort of stuff on a short board

At the end of that second video he does an close to airdrop on that takeoff. If you look closely he has turned the board with his ankles and the tip of the board actually pearls but he recovers from it. He has such good control of that board. Truly remarkable surfing.
