Hey guys,
I'm very new to the long boarding scene.
I have been looking at a board that comprised of black core, fibreglass with a epoxy finish.
I was just wondering if these materials make for a good quality board? Also the board is a brand called Honu, if that has any impact on the quality.

All boards have a core and some type of finish, so what you are looking at is just standard. I'm not sure what a 'black core' is, unless its just a core that has been coloured black for aesthetic reasons (ie no spray job, just covered in clear finish and looks black due to the coloured core).
Perhaps if you can link to the board, or provide its dimensions (length, width, thickness) we can offer more thoughts.

The only Honu boards I know of are made in Oregon or Milwaukee they appear to be SUPs and twhat you may be calling a black core is possibly the textured deck?????not sure but since the company has not posted on its blog since 2012 who knows?
Do you surf on anything else?
Post a picture of the board in question.
You, at least have me curious!

...a surfboard from Milwaukee? Naturally, then, it should have a large displacement V-twin engine. Maybe with high-performance Screaming Eagle ignition and cam.
