Hi there,

I would like to ask anyone for advice. I'd like to buy this longboard http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =666534898 , ( sorry for this link) but I can't find anything about this stuff on the internet.

Iam a 6''07' and 187lb ( 185cm,85kg) And i would like to surf in New Zealand mainly on Christchurch breaks: Sumner bar - beach and Taylors Mistake.
I have a 7"6' mini-mal and i can easily catch waves between 2ft - 5 ft also i can ride green water as well on it.

The reason why I wanna buy this board is, that in CHCH is not the best surfing period. Usually small waves and short period between - I think that it's a good for longboard. And I'm living 1,5h far from the break.

I'll be happy for your opinion or advices
Thank lots

aloha
Roman

South Point are pretty well regarded - mass market epoxy boards, but at the better end of the spectrum. Its not a high performance board but should be good for what you want. It will certainly be big enough - from online searching its 3 3/16 inch thick, so will have no issues with the smaller waves. I have no idea about whether its a good price as I dont know NZ pricing, but it seems quite reasonable at NZD400.

Scyph, welcome look at global surf industries they make the South point long boards! they come from Asia but the quality is quite good. Make sure repairs are done with epoxy resin and do yourself a favour when you get more experienced all the way up to Kaikoura there are great breaks. Sumner can good for a long board getting softer towards the south end on some swells. You should be set! Enjoy!

I had a great time down Christchurch left just before the first quake (phew) hope you go well and really catch the surfing bug.
Hook up with Sumner Longboarders Club, lots of support there.
