I just went surfing for my first time this past Friday at the Half Moon Bay Jetty. Where are you in Nor Cal?

Haha. I think he'd be a bit bored if we surfed together. I've only been out once so far, so he'd be catching waves, and I'd be falling off my board.

Yeah I'm In the bay area. Though my young kids limit me to mostly forum surfing these days.
Ydna, Welcome. were you the one posting about trouble standing up? Have you tried Lindamar beach in Pacifica? The south end of the cove is a nice longboard wave; it's a much easier shape than the jetty. HMB tends to pitch fast even on small swell. It can be a tough place to learn.

Yea. I need to figure out how far Linda Mar is away. That or go to Cowells. Yea, I'm the one having trouble surfing at all, haha.

Aloha to all Norcal surfers, just joined site. Located in Santa Cruz. Looking to get back into surfin after a long 42 yr long hiatus. Am in the market for a 9-6 or longer board.

I live in Oakland and mostly surf in Santa Cruz, rarely at Linda Mar. I just started learning to surf in April and have spent a good amount of time at Cowell's. We're lucky to have such a great beginner spot! Lately I've been spending more time around the Hook (41st Ave) because Cowells has been pretty flat. I go slightly south of the Hook where it's smaller and there are fewer surfers. I'm very much a beginner though!

Yea, I actually live a mile away from Malibu Surfrider beach. I don't usually take pictures of my surfing. The ex took these two. Leo Carillo is still considered to be in Malibu near Ventura Country Line and Emma Wood is a good spot in Ventura not far from C Street in Ventura.
Thanks for the nice welcome !

nice one, if you've got a few mins and fancy adding any of the well know spots to the
