Longboard displacement hull?

Postby APH » Sat Jul 02, 2011 6:23 am

Hi, was wondering if anyone has any experience or info re displacement hull longboards (do they even make them 9+). From what I gather turning is done more from the middle of the board with more emphasis on the front foot. Is this right? Do they paddle well? Are they for more advanced riders or can novices do fine on them? And finally are they available in Australia? Thanks in advance

APH don't know a lot about these but a shaper in Australia who might have the goods on these is Black Apache surfboards, I'm going to investigate him as he also does Bonzers.
I'm also going to chat to a local shaper who is very innovative; Jed of Bushrat Surfboards, there is quite a lot of information arund but it is mainly shorter Mini Simmons stuff. Google and report back could be start of an interesting thread
