Can you walk the nose on like a 7'2 or 7'6 egg shape? I'm trying to look for a board that has the traits of a longboard but is a little more maneuverable.

first off, the answer to that question is very inclusive. in other words, there's a lot of variables that go into it (the board design, the wave, etc.). If it has a bull nose with the right amount of lift, then sure it's possible. but the length and weight of a true longboard is also a huge contribution to walk the nose and just do general trimming.

if you are afraid that a longboard isn't maneuverable, then you are greatly mistaken. it's not the board, it's the surfer. there's plenty of longboards that can whip around. you just need to learn more about each longboard that you ride then if you're on a short board (where you need to be, how much pivot for a fin turn as opposed to a rail turn, etc.).

but don't be under the impression that a longboard isn't maneuverable. don't get me wrong, if you're looking to do airs, a single fin 10' isn't the right board (and you should probably be on the shortboarder section if you are into that :) )

There are two types of nose riding both on longer boards but if you are highly skilled you can nose ride on shorter high volume boards, the boards cannot do the job for you anything, any maneouvre, air nose whatever you have to be able to do, some boards just make it easier.

No board will make you a great surfer, genes athletic ability and doing lots and lots of surfing might.
