Your comfort zone

I realize that there are many factors that come into play with this question. Is the wave slopey or mushy or does it jack up hallow. Also i have noticed that as i get older the size of wave i am comfortable with has changed considerably, so I would have to state the question in reference to your comfort zone at the present.

For myself, I enjoy hallow surf best in the 4 to 7 foot range, once the swell starts wedging more i bump those numbers up a bit to the 6 to 9 foot range

Ok Newportlongboard is a comfort zone advisory especially for point breaks and reef, observe watch and consider, is the breaking of the wave consistent with what you could handle if it was a beach break , point breaks you can often paddle around the outside of the break to get out, similarly reef breaks often leave an easier way out. If the answer is yes and you can handle being in a queue for the take off which will be mostly in the same spot. Do it
put your heart in your mouth and go out. Take your time expand your comfort zone by clear and easy increments, a little fear and excitement breeds improvement.
Surfing never was nor ever will be entirely safe and any bottom on any wave can do you in
Magic formula. Surf fear, adrenalin, courage overcomes=endorphins released personal opiate production for your bodies pleasure..
Wipeout survival = pleasure and appreciation of remaining alive.
