KNEE PADDLING

is there any special meathods to knee paddling on a long board? or is it just a case of on the knees and paddle but takes some practice. i can currently paddle on my knees but if i stop paddling i fall straight off and gettign started going is also difficult so any tips would be great

getting started is the hard part. if you are falling off when you stop, then you may not be postioned on the board's balance point. Make sure you are a pretty well centered on the board.

That's pretty much it finding the sweet spot to kneel.
You will in time notice that it is slightly quicker to stand to take off. You will also gain an antique badge of honour surfers knots ( known in Australia as board bumps) on your knees and insteps.
They can be very helpful if there is ever a draft for the military again, both in Australia and the US, as they can look like deformaties that will stop you wearing military boots :)
Another thought, perhaps your board may be a little narrow.
