noseriders are bad? why?

I've heard a lot of people saying that noseriding specific boards really kill the overall performance of the board. What characteristics make it BAD for anything other than noseriding? Is it the concave nose? The upside down rails? Anything else? If I wanted to have a concave nose put on a classic style longboard for extra nose float would that deter its performance?

specifically--rocker,or rather lack of it!

a modern longboard is a compromise of all aspects,
they have rocker.optional fin set-ups,nose concaves and modern rails
and from your comments seem to be the way to go!!
like I said get out there and try loads out before you spend your dosh

A noserider specific board will have rocker, rail, outline etc set up to nose ride, so it won't do other things as well.

Getting a board that is all round and can nose ride is entirely different.

Well after all these years the message is geting across. . . . now we just have to wait for Bob McTavish to 'invent' the all round longboard . ..

What message, that something specifically designed for one thing, in extremes, may not be as good as something that's more general/less specific?

Hard for you to comprehend Roy but if some mad mad person actuary wanted to nose ride your boards would suck balls.... Doesn't make them bad boards though, so don't fret.

Do you know any mad actuaries ?

My friend Peter is an actuary but he's mostly sane.
