Vince,
I can understand your interest in replacing wax with pad. Even for those of us that don't keep our longboards in a truck, the convenience of going straight to water without waxing has appeal. I looked around the internet to find out more. One on-line surf shop has additional pad pieces that can be used with Sticky Bumps kit you brought to our attention. Look a little below the middle of the page here to see these things:
https://surfing-waves.com/Browse/sur ... -traction/ You may want additional pads if your board is longer than 9 feet. I also saw that Dakine sells some long pads. They usually market them as pads for stand up paddle boards. This may not make a difference. I liked the idea about the guy that glued a yoga pad to his surfboard. Very frugal. I noticed in Big 5, Walmart, and other discount stores selling atheletic equipment, that there is a wide selection of yoga and sleeping bag pads. When I was young and heavily into backpacking, there wasn't much to choose from. It was difficult to find the thin, warm, and comfy foam that is so common today. When Termarests were introduced, it was absolutely amazing.
Anyway, back to topic: Hope you get this figured out so you can surf more!
