Hey you--

depends on your ability and familiarity of use of glass fibre resin

few easy ways -

easiest is to drill a small hole in skeg and pass through leash cord

or
-get a proper leash cup from local surf store, drill oversize hole, mask up unwanted resiened erea half fill with hot resin--float in cup--wait to cure--sand off excess ,

or drill 1/2 inch hole through stringer and fin box at tail block throuh the board-- fill with resin-- let cure--drill 1/4 inch hole through resin and pass knotted cord right through fin box and striger and attach leash,

Most coolest is!!
get strand glass fibre---mask off offending area -saturate strand glss like a rope--lay up in form a 'd' shape-let cure-sand and polish

hey thanks for the help man, much appreciated. but when you say drill a hole through the skeg, do you actually mean drill a hole through the fin itself and put the leash through that?? cuz that sounds weird haha but if it works ill do it.

haha right the leash string i put through the hole haha. i was thinking the whole leash haha. wait r u sure thats okay for the fin, like not putting too much pressure on it. also i dont have a drill, is there something else i could use to make that small hole that you can reccomend?? thanks man i really appreciate your answers, your gonna save me from alot of extra swimming haha

i dont think attaching the leash to the fin is a good idea.

Just take a hole saw a teeny bit bigger than the leash cup and drill the hole out (not right through of course) then mix some qcell or make your own resin mixture and pour it in put the leash cup in and clean the excess away. VOILA - 10 minute job easy peasy.

Hole in fin = loads of pressure in fin box when leash attached = popping the 'pin' that slides in the fin box = swim and no suurfboard = :(

Either install a leash plug or learn to grab board as you kick off ( you do not have to ride board to oblivion !).

LMAO! True.

Oh a tip - you dont need to buy strands. You can just pull fiberglass cloth apart.
