Where do you keep it when it's flat?

So i've just got myself a 9'1 and i think i'm a girl in love. It's great! But, i was strapping it onto the roof of my car yesterday and i noticed how many fresh dings there were. Ok, it's a second hand board and i'm expecting to give it a bit of wear, but not to this extent!

See, the thing is, i live with my parents in a pretty small house. The room it lives in is right near the front door and the front door needs to be open for it to get in the room. Also, the angle is all messed up and the fin gets stuck blah blah. It took me a good five minutes struggling with it last night to get it in the house. I don't know what to do! It's so bad and it's getting dings all over the shop!

Could i store it in a shed type thing outside? Just worried about weather damage and the sun melting the wax. But if i built a wooden cupboard/box sort of arrangement, do you think that would be ok???

ANY advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Shed type thing outside will be fine. As long as you dont store it in direct sunlight, it'll be fine. And if it gets proper hot, then the wax will melt - but that just gives you the opportunity to give it a good clean and apply new grippy wax 8)

I've got my 9'2" board in the bedroom of my one bedroom apartment. I can't close the bedroom door, and I have to step over the nose of the board to get in the bathroom, but at least it's out of the sun, lol.

It's sort of analogous to how I get the board to the beach. It goes on top of my Mini Cooper. I have to secure the soft rack to the hinge posts on the hatchback, as it doesn't have rear windows. Necessity is the mother of invention 8)

Garage or shed will be fine. I keep mine in it's bag when it's stored which keeps it clean and adds an extra layer of protection (I have one of the thermo bags so it keeps it from getting too hot, but you still don't want to have it stored in direct sunlight even if it's in a bag).

I saw a post by a guy who stores his hanging from the roof of the garage. He hung hooks in the ceiling then strung bungee cord through the hooks and his board has a nice little hammock to rest in (the chords make 2 little shelves - one kinda where you chest hits and another where your shins hit on the board).

Stayed on the 8th floor of a hotel in HI one.....my log wouldn't fit in the elevator...and going up the cramped stairs I would bash it at every turn. I feel your pain.
A shed or something would work fine. I have completely clogged my garage with boards.....good luck
