A street sweeping map is my Magic Seaweed for downhill skating.

I hunt groomed slopes and worry about the ONE ROCK that causes this....

Went out a few days ago with a mate that rips. He was grabbing waves at will while I struggled a bit. After telling him I’d had a shocker he replied “mate, you got the 3 best waves I saw all day, unfortunately though, you got all 3 on your head!” It wasn’t my greatest day but that made me laugh. It was a fair call, I got smashed.

I shared my last sesh with a bunch of groms on their Spring Break. One of them followed me around so I decided to help him catch a few waves. He was maybe 11 years old, full of energy and hyperactive. He had difficulty waiting between sets and spent the time complaining and paddling after sea gulls. After I led him to a good takeoff spot, he charged after everything, snaking or dropping in before wiping out. I pulled him aside for the “etiquette talk” and thought he was paying attention until I saw him pulling his wetsuit below the waist and making a VERY RELIEVED expression.

Needless to say, I started over!

I know from the experience that ONE PEBBLE can trip me up, literally. When I was getting used to my Carver, I ran over the gravel that locked the wheel. I bailed but my Aspics sneaker gripped the ground too well and ... ended up just like the pic above right in front of my neighbor

So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

It's fun to watch the wildlife!

A group of college kids partied while a fun wave was breaking. One guy had everyone's attention and played to the crowd. “Mr. Entertainment” was tanked and stumbled into the surf with a beer in the back pocket of his boardshorts. He paddled up and down the lineup looking for a wave.....any wave. When one finally came he was sitting sideways watching his friends. It pitched him over and sent the leashless board into shore. He cast about looking for the beer and found it just before taking another wave on the head. Calling it a day, he popped the can which exploded in his face.

So many uses....highways, restaurants, Disneyland...

Yesterday, from Crescent City to San Diego, California, surfers paddled out en masse and proceeded to snake, back-paddle, burn, roast, sneer, snicker, dunk, brawl, cut leashes and smash fins as part of the surf community's newly enacted "Purge" session. The statewide event encourages surfers to act on their baser instincts, committing the most heinous crimes in surfing, in hopes that they will "get it all out of their system."

Board with matching Speedo!

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) called it "The Harland." It is a surfboard. With the company's logo on it.
There's only one in the world, and it's been sold for $3,000. Wait: why would anyone buy a surfboard with Colonel Harland David Sanders' face printed all over the board. Has the world gone mad?

Fortunately, there's a good reason why someone was willing to pay a small fortune for such an uncool, kook-style surfboard that won't look good in Australia's busiest line-ups.

KFC Youth Foundation launched a limited-edition merchandise range that channels revenues to Australian youth-focused charities.

The fast-food firm released a collection of t-shirts, socks, ties, necklaces and other bizarre items like swim briefs, and crochet drumsticks.

But there's more. KFC promises 65 grams of "stability like never before" with its "Inspired Surf Wax." All we know is that it doesn't taste like chicken wings or nuggets, but it has a unique smell.

It can be yours for $13. All proceeds from the scented wax will also go to helping build confidence in young Australians.

I was tempted to buy some KFC wax as ‘presents’ for my mates (im sure sharks don’t eat KFC...). But the wax was really expensive (3x normal price plus $10 postage). But it’s for charity so maybe
