Yeah efficiency matters if I'm using my car for transport, or even using a Wave for transport, you know, A to B trips n all.

However that's a pretty sketchy way of getting to work in the mornings. I'm in the ocean for fun, if 'posing' is how I (or the OP) get stoked whats wrong with it?

I know your on a one man crusade to save surfing from some strange echelon inspired world conspiracy , but wouldn't it be time better spent elsewhere when someone specifically asks about a noserider.

Your mistake. . . he didn't ask about a noserider, he asked about longboards.. . read more carefully next time

Not all longboards are noseriders, in fact pre 1950's longboards were not noseriders, and the longest boards cetainly weren't.

The bottom line is that if you insist on drinking the noseriding koolaid you will be stuck with a board which has a vastly reduced ability to ride waves.. . . if that's not a problem to you then IMO you are not a surfing purist but rather more of a social poser.

It's fine with me personally that so many people ride dysfunctional mals. . . it means I get more waves and have way more fun. The mals guys always look so sad when they realise that they can't make waves that I'm making. . . kind of bursts their wee bubble a bit.

Just trying to help, but no apologies for not joining the cheesy cross stepper's chorus. . . it's so stale .
