Longboarding Films

Postby Sar » Sun Feb 11, 2007 7:45 pm

I have decided that when I grow up I want to be a longboarder.

I know there are loads of surfing films out there but are there any dedicated to longboarding? Im sure there are but I dont want to part with my hard earned pennies unless I know im going to get something good.....any suggestions are more than welcome!!

Sorry if this is a laboured topic - I have had a little search. Promise!

I just watched Endless Summer (the original) and since thats about all there was at the time it was made (1966 i believe) i guess you could say its "dedicated" to longboards.

Also, i recently watched "Step Into Liquid". awesome flick! there are definite sections related to longboards and the like but certainly not the majority of the film.

anyway, my .02

Single Fin Yellow, Log are the only two coming to mind right now. I'm sure that I'll think of more stuff later. Any thing with Bonga Perkins is good.

Don't forget about Seedling, it's the pre-quel to Sprout. The Campbells did that film too, all on 16mm.

I think I'm going to watch Sprout again when I get home.

Check out "The Hub" by Christiaan Bailey. Beatifully shot, mellow longboard movie based around those that surf Noosa. Got some good bonus footage from Cali & NZ.

Alos, lines from a poem is cool.

Nobody has mentioned "the long way round" and "State of play" both by Chris Preston. Uk longboarders on local breaks personnaly I find them very inspiring.

Long way round is essential viewing.

Other films are definitely Sprout, and Endless summer 1 & 2
