Yes it is kinda a knockoff, its made by a local Bali shaper, made in Sanur. But its cheap, got it for 4.5 mil. Works good, feels very good, quite light, no problem carrying with one hand, handles nice, i loved it for 2 years i had it.
But last month, i got smashed into the rocks during low tide due to myself still a kook, and my baby got a hole on the rails near the nose, on the right side. I quickly get out of the water and left it to dry for a week.
The hole was about 3 inch length 1.5 inch depth and width. The foam was well exposed.
Thing is, when i wanna repair it, i actually dont know whats it made of. Pu/pe or epoxy.
My question is, anybody familiar with the local Bali shapers who make cheap customs for 4.5 mil, what actually its made of? Lost the shapers contact num for now. Another local bali shaper told me pu/pe will cost 7mil plus, so im guessing its epoxy for 4.5 mil. But doesnt epoxy boards hard to shape by hand? And more expensive?
I think epoxy repair kits shud have no prob if used to repair pu boards, it just made me realize that i dont even know what my board is made up from. Custom handmade in bali for 4.5 mil. What do you guys think its made of?
Sory for the long read. Thx. Cheers from malaysia
