I'm never buying shitty boards again!

I just put my knee through the rail of my 8'4" last night, and I didn't even get hurt. If I'm going to crack a rail, I'd at least expect to have some pain for it, like i actually hit it hard! It was not a chinese board, but definitely a 3rd tier construction/label from a factory south of the border.
No more of that shite. I'm sick of bargain boards that crack when you look at them. And yes, i take care of my boards, keep 'em in bags and stuff.
Luckily my FIRST Custom is coming this week! I'm so pumped! It's a 7'4 quad- kind of a blown up fish shape by Guy Okazaki. I know it's not a full on shortboard or true fish, but it's a step down for me and will push me to the next level. Also, His prices are awesome, they can come cheaper than big label production models!
He's super cool to work with and talk to, I just told him where I was at and where I want to be ultimately and he suggested I try this rather than the funboard route. I'm glad I listened to him, b/c I tried a 6'10" piranha at the surftech demo and found it still a little small to catch lots of waves.
Then tried a 7'10 egg and thought it was fun but a little easy, like it would get old fast. I think this puts the shape he reccomended right where I wanted it to be.
So, Quad fins, 6 oz on the bottom, 6/4 top, glassed at spanners. Oughta hurt at least when I put my knee though it
