Surfing Waves

Okay, so I want another board...don't ask me how many I have,...

Anyhoo, I am looking at these boards:

Bushman 6'3''

I want to use them for both kiteboarding and surfing. I am fairly heavy, but I like driving board, that goes rail to rail, and that are fast and snappy...

does anyone have any experience with any of these boards?

I think the stretch would be the best. It has alot of volume so you could probably go with the 6'1''.

Yeah, I think I am looking that direction too...

thx for the feedback. I had a go on a Bushman today, and the board had a very nice rail, and rode very smooth. My experience on other stretch boards have also been positive...and I just love the feel of the quad fins..

This is just my opinion, but wouldn't it make more sense to work with a local shaper, and support the local Surf comunity and get a board shaped custom for you. Surftech's are tuff, and last, but what about the local shapers out there struggling to make it, and they are the ones doing because they love to do it. They usualy aren't even in it for the money. I only buy boards shaped by hand, by local shapers in my area. Without them we would only have Chineeses pop-outs. Just a though, not trying to start a big debate.

But what if he wants a TL2 surftech epoxy board? What if the local shapers can't give him the product he wants? Or can't do it at the price he needs to spend? I agree, support local when you can, but sometimes you want something that they can't give.
And besides, the Chinese need to eat too. And the Czechs, and the italians, and Canadians, and americans......

Go for the Stretch. I have been intrigued by the shape ever since Northswell said he was buying one. Looked at one in Santa Cruz last weekend, looked sweet. Nice fat tail. Buy it and tell me how it rides in softer mushier stuff

Good point. I wasn't telling anyone they had to buy from a local shaper. I know plenty of people that are very happy with thier pop-outs. Just thought I would toss the suggestion out there. Good luck with whatever you choose. Finding the "magic" board is sometimes a very difficult thing.

Hi, well most of the boards I am looking at were from local shapers. They put their name on the boards / shapes, they get money...and they don't have to do the work

My only objection would be to what extent the person actually doing the shape is able to do a good job. When that is said, shadow shaping ia not at all a new thing.

So I heard the the TL2 board, although the shape looks insanely nice, has some problems delaminating.

My biggest problem was to find a board that is hard core enough to take some wave kiteboarding too. The polyester boards would generally not take it, unless you add a lot of extra layers...which makes the board heavier

Hey guys, thanks for your feedback. For now I ended up getting a ratboy M10 6'1'', because I got it used for $200. But you are right it is a such a hard process to find a board that has enough drive, can turn snappy, yet not bee super hard to paddle into waves...so it is alwys an ongoing process....
