hey im getting a new board and i cant buy anything extremely expensive, so has anyone heard anything good about the bic 6'7"

I`d go for a glassed board, off the shelf one. See how you get on with that. Are you a kook or expert ?, weight, height.

im intermediate i guess, i can consistently catch ways without problem, im about 5'6'' and i weigh 125
i surfed for a while on the bic 7'9" and im just lookin for something alot shorter

borrow one of your friends' boards if they got em, try ridin em and see what fits you best. i had a funshape 7'4'' before i moved to a shorter board and went to a 6' gun. they're narrow and can catch almost anything. a fish would also be a good first shortboard...it's sorta like a long or funshape, floaty but can catch waves pretty easy and do not sink as much as the gun, but the gun is a lot faster. idk it depends on what you like i guess.

If you consider yourself an intermediate why would you look at a Bic

because i only get to surf about a month a year and so far bics have been very dependable

sounds like you may have a different idea of "intermediate" to northswell if you only surf 1 month a year...

I think Northswell was trying to make the point that an intermediate surfer wouldn't consider a bic because they're not gonna allow you to do tricks properly, and won't surf as well.

What are your priorities? tricks or durability and the ability to use your surfboard as an ironing board?

if you are looking to progress dont get a bic. nothing wrong with them for learning on. hell i still have one although i dont use it anymore. what you want to do is go and find a used funboard about 6'10 - 7'2. that will be easy and forgiving enough but you can still chuck them around. i say go used because if you're only surfing a month every year then theres not a great deal of point having a shiny new board. also if you buy the wrong board it will be cheaper.
