First Ride

Postby jdec83 » Thu Dec 07, 2006 9:08 pm

Just got back from the beach. I had the first GOOD ride on my shortboard. A lot better then my old fish. It was only about a 4 footer but I caught speed, drove down the face, clean bottom turn, back up and down again 3 times before I got closed out. Felt GREAT

It is important to realize that most of the world judges the size of a wave from the front. Here in So Cal we do it by the back side which is always substantialy smaller.

I like going by wave face sizes based on a person.

Although I love hearing about beachgoers that say "they got hit by a 15 foot (shorebreak) wave"

Hahaha, yeah right.
