Personally I think they are ok, although i'd much rather have a board shaped over here, made for our waves. Not shipped over from south africa.

I have heard some bad things about Spider boards, I was talking to one of my local shapers and he doesn't like them at all, he wont stock them in his shop because hes had trouble with them in the past.

Of course you local shaper isnt goin to like them as they are so cheap!
My ex mini-mal was spider and was perfect to learn on, as for the boards not being made for our waves i think thats untrue as long as you buy the right dimensions for your height/weight/ability!

Not saying they arn't decent boards, Its just they havn't got the best reputation where I surf. Most guys would rather ride boards shaped by local shapers, who have been surfing our waves for years.

They're fine as long as they are the right size and shape for you, construction's excellent from personal experience.
