Here is a board I was thinking about buying for my first shortboard. What do you think Im 130 pounds 6'1 and I think Il be moving close to the beach really soon so I will be able to go at least twice a week. Gerry Lopez 6'6.

Looks pretty narrow for a first shortboard. Very pretty (actually Im in two minds about whether its pretty or not) but if you're 6'1 then you'll get along better with something with more volume :?

I read your post on coastalBC.com quite interesting :) , 'twas a better description than the one you posted here! anyway, in my opinion, if you think you are ready to put in the hard hours of frustration, then go for it. Like anything, its going to be tough to begin with but I am confident you can manage. What are the thickness and width? (should be on the bottom of the board next to the height). You are very skinny, so you should be able to handle a relatively thinner board without much trouble...I weighed about 65 KG's (about 143 pounds) and I was 5'11 when I got my first shortboard, It was 6'1, and quite thin board (18 2/8 x 4 1/4). I got used to the board after about 2 weeks, however, I was only coming down from a 6'6 Fish which i surfed most days of the week.

It will take you a while to get used to, but with sufficient practice it is managable

Ya I put it in some really good detail, the other post did not have enough. Im not sure the thickness or price it is at a surf shop which is 8 hours from my house(Tofino) and there are not many deatils about the boards on the site. I just thought it looked nice, Im sure they could give me some help in the shop and Im also thinking about renting a shortboard 6'8-6'10 and see if I like it or not. My parents said they will move closer to the bech(2 hour drive) but they dont know when so im not sure what to do mabe I should hold off for a year or two until they move down there.
