This is an ideal beginner board to start on, the 7'2 nsp and 7'3 bic are both the most popular first time boards id think. It depends on your height/weight, surfing ability and mainy what you want to get out of it?
I still reckon a longboard is the best surfboard to learn on. A board has 3 functions: duck diving, paddling and riding. A board thats too big for you wil help you master all of these things. You'll develop a smooth surfing style, and will find it a lot easier when you move down to a shorter board.
Also when you do move down to a shorter board, you can still use the longboard for fun small days.
But longboards are a lot more money. How much are you willing to spend as well?

Thnx. I'm about 5'3 and well...i dont actually know my weight ( i suppose that would help so i'll find out). But i have been told thats the size i need, i just wasn't sure if the board was right for a beginner.
Thanks a bunch

yeah, it seems like it would be a good size.
[A round/wide nose would help as well.]

My first board was a 7'3 BIC mini mal which is basically the same thing and I found it alright. Its a good all-round shape and size to learn on. Value for money you can't beat it.

The NSP shapes suck and the BICS are not much better. Look for another brand. You should be able to find some other Epoxy options

that is true, unless you you move up a size in bic, the bic longboard shapes are nicked from some of the best shaped longboards in the wold.
