6'4" fish question

I have surfed sparatically for about 8 years when ever I get the chance. Usually the only time I get out is when I visit my grandparents in Daytona Beach or the occasional family trip to Hawaii, I have also got out a few times on the Oregon Coast as that is where I am originally from. My point is that my surf experience is rather limited, however I am able to surf long boards quite easily and seem to have no problems. These last two summers I have recently taken up surfing behind the boat, which has taught me to utilize the face of the wave and make turns. I know a boat's wave and a wave from nature are totally different but I am wondering if my limited experience warrants me to buy a 6'4" NSP fish. Yeah...I know everyone hates pop outs they are heavy and aren't real surfboards.. whatever thats all I can afford. I am going to be spending the entire summer interning in Daytona Beach, but three months will be the extent of my stay, therefore I don't need a custom board. I am wondering if the 6'4" NSP fish would be a good choice? I just want to have fun on the small summer waves and progress as much as I can, I want a challenge while still attaining a fun factor! I am 6'0" 185 muscular build if that helps any.

hay dude its a good board for those small fun days but it will be hsrd at first take some time too get used to a short board lol it is a fish my first short board was a 6 ft 4 take off which is a good fun board too ride if you are not going too be going much go for it

seems everyone who posts on here looking for advice on a first board has their heart set on buying a new board, buy second hand at first, its cheaper, and even if a board looks tatty and has dings on the deck it doesnt mean its not gonna be any good. I was surfing over 10 years before i even thought about buying new, youre money goes a lot further buying pre-loved boards.

I had this board as my first introduction to shortboarding. I got pretty good on it but got to a point where I could progree no further on it. Its a good summer board though. dont listen to what others say about a pop out either, i have a custom board, but i use this one when the spots are crowded with summer surfers.
