First time i tryed a shortboard today which i bought on friday and it's 6'6" x 19 1/4 x 2 9/16 shaper nigel semmens. Well what a diiference its is, it's so much easier getting out back, more speed and way looser. I started out on a 9'1" mal for about 1 year then bought a 7'2" al merrick hybrid, stuck with that for about 8 months. Then a thought i'd try out a shortboard and well im just stoked by how much i have progressed. ahh how i love my new and first time and only shortboard. So hear's my question: How long did it take you to progress from either a longboard, mal, or mini mal to a shortboard? Also how was your first time on a shortboard?

the first time I ever went surfing it was on my friends 6'2 during a hurricane. I was nose diving on every wave and it took about an hour to get back to the line up. I went and bought a 6'6 and what a difference. That was about a year ago now I bought a 6'1 flyer and I realized a huge difference in my performance
