Fishes can go up to fairly long - 6'8 - 6'10 ish. But usually they're in the 6' - 6'6 range, so that 6'4 would be average
As for big waves - they can be ridden in headhigh+ waves, but they can be much too loose and skatey to hold a tight line or carve
You could probably improve it though with a three fin thruster set up - but then you're kinda losing the point of a fish....
I've surfed my fish in well over headhigh stuff but always struggled - the power of the wave always sends the tail into a terminal death wobble slide
They can work really well on 'slow' big waves though - big waves at a long board spot on a fish can really surprise all the guys cruising past on their logs
