Hey guys! ummmmm....im a surfer that has been surfing for a while now,and i like to surf with short boards, like 6'2 and down. But right now im looking for a new board but i cant really find a lot cuz i dont know where to start. So if you guys could refer me to some surf sights with good short boards. Thnx. O and also, if i do get another board, whats the difference between 3 fins,2 fins, and 1 fins. Does it have to do with turning?because ive heard that tri-fins are a lot better for sharp turns.(remember, like 6'2 and down boards)Thanks a lot.

o...but ive been surfing for about 5 months now and am doing pretty good. I use a single fin so its pretty hard to turn, and its a 6'8 which is a whole lot larger than me. Id prefer one like a shortboard,tri-fin, 6'4 down. Thnx. But if you have any other suggestions PLZ tell me. O and right now im in the process of turning across the wave and carving it and stuff. But like i said, its hard to turn on a single fin...but whats the difference between tri and single/double?

I see it this way- a 3 fin has the looks and the performance, but the single has the soul. i would rather have the soul, I would trade my thruster for a good single fin anyday.
of course, thats only my opinion

K..Thnx a lot guys. But iono. My 6'8 G&S single fin im riding right now is like really hard to turn. I know once i get better ill be able to ride it "better". But right now im paddling really good and i have good balance, but i just cant carve so i figure that its easier to do all that turning stuff. But from what u guys and my dad said, its a classic board. C, he used to ride that in high school, but what does it mean when the board is "classic"? like is it just like a smoother ride or is it explaining how it looks....iono....

classic, is just like a car. what classic? thats all your interpretation....
an ol' G&S(im supposing?) single fin? yea. thats classic. in my opinion. if someone shows me a retro style board, thats a new board, I think classic.
I really love classics, retro, whatever. Or maybe I just dont like thrusters all that much. yea....
try someone else's boards, it gives you much better of an idea than reading. 1 hour of riding= 10 hours of reading. most guys out there will let you ride theirs, well, i really dont know what Cali is like but I am assuming again here.
If you wanna see some good single fin action, there a couple clips on the channel islands site, that has Rob Machado riding two single fins. He rides them just as good as a thruster. check it out if you have windows, doesnt fly on apples though, although apples still rule.
good luck and just go with what feels good and right to YOU, not looks or whatever
