Surfing Waves

Hi people. Ive been surfing for about 3 months.Im 5'0 tall and weigh 113. But while im surfing i just cant turn. Ive read all the other posts about turning but still didnt work. So if anyone could put it in more simple terms that would be great. and also yesterday i went surfing and there were waves about 5'0 tall waves to.(the face) and eveytime i get a wave and start triing to stand, i purl! so its like im on the wave, then i start coming down, the capoosh...im sukced under. So im not sure if im doing something wrong or just not getting it. But on the smaller waves, i can ride them no problem. SO ya if you could respond to this, you are a SURFSAVER!

Yeah, paddle hard and don't try stand up at the bottom of the wave, stand up when you're just started sliding down the face

..and when you are trying to turn look in the direction you want to go and your feet should automatically turn slghtly to enable you to mak a turn
