Surfing Waves

Hey all,

I've been looking into surfing a lot. I've been bodyboarding for about 3 years. Recently I've been inspired to try out shortboard surfing.

Is there any common knowledge on what height of a board I should get, I'm about 6'2.

Just try a big board first, and then work down to as small a board as you want/can handle.

I agree. I think you should start off with a bigger board and work your way down. I made a mistake when starting as I jumped straight in the deep end with a 6'3 shortboard.
The foam boards can be good to start off with, but you need a proper board to get a real feel for it.
