Hello I am fairly new to surfing and am 5'11" and 130lbs and am currently using a 7' Funboard. I do want to eventually upgrade to a different board but what kind would be good for me? I live in Florida and surf anywhere between Flagler and Daytona Beach. Thanks in advance!

Stop looking around and focus on learning the board you've got. If you can't get out back the last thing you need is a smaller board.

Hey and welcome!

What do you feel is holding you back in your surfing right now? Have you stalled in your progression or are you looking at riding different waves? What manoeuvres can you pull on that 7' you got.

Giving the gurus on here a bit more info might result in more helpful answers. Hard to tell if they don't know your level of surfing but seeing as you just started it's the natural assumption as Big H has made that you might think a short board is the answer to your problems, as a beginner that's really rarely the case. I'm a beginner of a few years and believe me the advice you'll get here comes from a good place and will help you progress if you take it on board! Even if unfortunately that means readjusting your preconceptions about what you think you need to progress right now.

Tell us more about your board, it's shape and dimensions and the waves you're currently riding and what you want to do that you currently can't. More info means more help :)
