questions about buying a newboard

Sorry for and grammatical errors. I am thinking about purchasing a spider board but have heard bad things about them. Also the board i am buying is 6,10 its meant to be a step up from my mini mal as a transition into short boarding but after reading some of the posts i'm worried its to long. I,m around 13 stone which is 182 pounds. Any advice appreciated.
