Hey.
My name is Marcelo, I'm from Brazil and I'm going to CA on October in a Surf Trip from Los Angeles to San Diego.
I am an intermediate shortboarder looking for good waves. I already selected some surf spots:
-Zuma Beach, Malibu, Topaganga, Venice, Manhattan Beach, Harmosa, Seal beach, Huntington, The Wedge, T Street, Laguna Beach, Salt Creek in Dana point, Trestles, Blacks Beach and La Roja (Scrips).

I am going by myself, so if someone want to join or have tips of cheap accomadation in these places above, it would be great.

My email is mmerzari@globo.com

Cheers and good waves !

Hi Marcelo, I'm Mike, looks like you picked some good ones. I would skip Hermosa Beach, and Laguna Beach only breaks when the surf is really good, so it might just be a nice drive for you (cute girls though). The wedge usually only big when there is hurricane in the southern hemi, so I don't think you'll catch it breaking. Most people skip it unless it's big.

In orange county add Newport Beach jetties, they are great in fall and winter. In San Diego add Swamis, Wind n Sea and Sunset Cliffs., all classic breaks.

Hit me up when you are in San Diego, depending on my work schedule I might join you mr_govea@yahoo.com

Hey Mike.
Thank you for the tips. I'll include these spots in my list.
Sure, with more 3 spots in San Diego I think I can spend more time there, maybe 1 week.
Do you know a good place (cheap) to stay in San Diego?

Cheers.

There are hostels in both Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach, both right by the surf and a great price. You can look them up.
