Surfboard - Can this go as a beginner-board?

Hello everyone.
I have been surfing for about 2 months, and I'm thinking about getting a board for the summer. I want it to be as small as possible.
I found this board under the "beginner boards" section at Surfdome.com

Can it go as a beginner board, or what board would you recommend (link) ?
:-)

How heavy are you? If you are under 60kg then it might be ok but not the best; over that and I suspect you will struggle.

Not ideal but you might be ok on one of those. You might also be able to find one to rent so you could try that option first.

How much do you weigh? Hard to tell you if you will be ok with this board. If you weigh 200lbs no, if you weigh 100lbs yes, in between it depends

1kg=2.2lbs.

You know what they say, you learn something new everyday.

To be honest, at 70kg you are really going to struggle until you are more advanced.

If you absolutely must go short then something like this will be better

http://www.surfdome.com/surf_series_surfboards_-_surf_series_fun_surfboard_-_6ft_8-43331 (and the 7ft2 even better)

This one would be possible as well

Thats just looking at the website you nominated; there will be better boards than that elsewhere.

Also, by the way, the board dimensions on that site dont match the dimensions on the NSP site. So I would do a bit more research rather than just look at that site.

But, really, read up on the reasons why bigger boards are better for beginners and the issues with starting short; then knowing the risks make up your own mind. Just look around this forum especially under 'surfboard advice' ('surfing lessons for all'). Either way, get the biggest board (length, width and thickness) you are prepared to get.

I would go with something a little bigger than what you found, not much, but bigger
