Aloha AF2 Turbo

Hi,

I've been surfing for about 9 months now. When I moved down to shortboard I bought a NSP Shotboard 6'6. Several months later I started to feel my board too heavy. A friend of mine told me that was because I was improving my surf.

The NSP Shortboard dimensions were Height: 6'6, Width: 20 1/8, Thick 2 7/16.
I just switched to an Aloha AF2 Turbo that is: 6'6, Width: 19 1/2, Thick 2 1/2.

I'm pretty big. 1,86m and 75kg

I feel the AF2 lighter, easier to duck-dive. But I want to know if I will be able to learn to turn and cut and practice some cool stuff in that board. Isn't 6'6 too big for that?

I would like your opinions.

Hey, people turn and cut and o all the things on boards of all sizes, 6'6" won't stop, you'll get to do these things when your ability gets good enough. Right now you need decent wave catch flotation and lots of surfing!
Even longboarders can do that stuff :!:

Never heard of that board, but at 75kg this is still just a transition board. Eventually you'll be surfing 6'0 shortboards when you get good enough, for now that is a good step down.

By the way, I'm 92kg and surf a 6'2
