single fin converter.

Postby lewis » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:45 pm

HI,

I've got a thruster that i'd like to try as a single fin.
IT has FCS fin boxes.

Is there a large single fin designed to fit the fcs boxes or maybe an adapter to fit a standard single fin too?

thanks.

If you put large fins in FCS, be prepared for them to break. Good luck though!

A big fin will break out the plugs and often the lugs a box and fin base set up is much stronger for big fins.

If you really want to try it as a single fin buy a size 8 center fin, special order from FCS, or a size 7 from any surf shop.

However, if you are trying to just get more glide do what I do when the surf is small and I happen to have my thruster by mistake, just take out the center fin and surf it as a twin. You'd be suprised what one less fin does to your ability to paddle

For relevant advice . . . give S-W the dimensions of both you and the 'usual suspect' surfboard . . . better help might be forthcoming.

Just thought about this, FCS makes an H3 set, sort of like keel fins but it comes with a center fin. That might work ok if you can get just the center.
