Shorter board

Postby smile » Fri Feb 24, 2012 10:46 am

I currently ride a JC Flying Pig (6'4" 19 3/4 x 2 1/2) and I am finding it to be a bit to big and bulky to get a lot of response out of it, the surf usually ranges from 1-4ft but we do get 6ft+ days. I am 185cm and weigh around 70-75kgs. So I want to drop down a fair amount of size, and I have been looking a board that comes in at 5'10" 17.8 x 2.15. I know this is a fair large drop in size, but I before I bought my JC I was riding at 6'8" and I barley felt any problems with handling that change in size.

The board I am looking at is second hand, but is in very good condition still. Any comments or suggestions?

if you can afford it, get it. if its only second hand and in good nick, then if you dont like it/don't get on with it, then sell it on. themathteacher seems to be a bit of a pro when it comes to trying out lots of boards. thats what he does. buys one second hand, if he likes it, he keeps it or takes the dimensions and gets one custom built, and if he doesnt get on with it he sells it on.
