I have a 6'1" CI Flyer and a 5'10" CI Pod. I like the Flyer better in pretty much every way. I don't like paddling the Pod, and I don't like how fat and unresponsive it feels in turns compared to the Flyer. But it's faster. I'm looking for something more along the lines of the Flyer, something with thinner rails, and a somewhat sleeker design, but I want a little more volume, a little more speed, especially for small days. Any suggestions?

I have a traditional twin fin that I use on smaller days. Once you get used to riding with your weight on the front foot, it will absolutely fly on small days. You can generate tons of speed even when the waves are super slow. They do take a bit of getting used to but once it clicks you'll hardly ever want to use your other boards, and they turn on a dime, so much so that you have to try and not turn them too much!
Check out this vid and you'll see what I mean:

I too had a flyer, and it is a tough board to replace. The flyer picks up speed so easy and works very well in small to med sized surf.I would stick to the flyer design if you do not like the pod. I also think the pod is a great design if you do not want to go to a thicker retro board or a fish. The pod picks up speed quick and is a great small wave board. Is your pod small enough for you?
