To pump I start with little turns on the face a bit like tic tac turns on a skate board, each micro turn adds a little speed.
I have my back foot firmly on the sweet spot and push down and swing the nose in a slight arc and release some pressure on the tail the nose drops slightly down the face and picks up speed, I can use one pump the speed up for a section or several just prior to a flat spot on the face to give me carry over speed.
I also watch the wave face to see micro pockets or spots where I can get more speed by going high to low.
You can also stall pump by pushing down hard on the tail without turning, hold the pressure as you begin to float up the face and then suddenly put pressure on your front foot and enjoy the acceleration, all of this can be subtle or hard driving. The pros do it at a micro level inside the tube
