Hey have any of you bros owned, or do you know anything about the Channel Island Double-Helix Flyer II and other PU (polyurethane) Boards? I guess CI is selling them at $399 and thats a chill deal, unfortunately I feel there is a catch and have heard only one time (which is enough) that they might be easier to break than a normal board. I can't afford for the new board that I'm looking to buy, break on me anytime soon. Please let me know if you have heard anything...

Hey,

The rails of the board have a double helix of carbon strips which is very strong. It allows the board to have similar flex to a standard shortboard, although a little more. We have had many new ones leave here and a few used ones in our used board store, none of which have been broken. They are fairly boyant, I have ridden one and felt like I could go a little smaller than my normal boards. It does feel a little different under your feet as the flex pattern is a bit different, and the float is very good on the boards, I think a little more than standard materials.

Hope this helped you very much

Enjoy,
