Today after a week and half of not surfing, I went out and wow it just clicked, the reason before I wasn't catching or standing up right most of time had nothing well... partly nothing to do with my popup...
I found out actually was a LOT more back than should be, even though I could catch the waves, I was too far back to popup into position quick enough and lean forward!
Quite amazing really... the little time off led me to this discovery for me haha.
Just thought might mention it for anyone who was in my situation of transitioning over and still not 100% on standing on a shortboard

It kinda felt like I was pearling so arched back more to lift pressure off nose, caught wave and bam! It just came together
