To buy or not to buy a Rocky of my height...

Hey guys, I still haven't bought that new board. I decided that I'm going to get another used board, hone my skills further and then spend the $400+ on a custom.

I'm looking at this Xanadu Rocky 5' 8" x 20" x 2 3/8" (The seller took a picture of the dims and it says 5'8" x 19" x 2"). There's are two taped dings, one on the rail near the tail, and one below the fin box. I''ll have to check that out in person. I'm mainly concerned with its size. I'm 5'8" at 145 lbs.

If the second set of dimensions are the correct one, that thing sure is going to be a Lays potato chip. But I'm making a guess that the wideness and Tuflite construction of the board compensate for its smaller length and thickness. What do you guys think? Thanks.

I had a xanadu rocky made for my size by my shaper and it was my go-to board for 2 years. I still like the shape, just have gone onto other things. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. The thickness carries to the rails and the template is wider at the tail than a normal shortboard, so it will be fun as heck but surf like a bigger board.

Go for it, at your weight it's fine, a little short if you aren't experienced but for your size you'll adjust.
